Dorothy J Morris

My birth name is Dorothy Mae Johnson. I was born and raised in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Two years ago, I married my best friend of 20+ years, Andrew Morris. Hence, my name changed to Dorothy J Morris.

I am blessed to have beautiful and talented daughters: Keirra (the singer), Vicky (the writer), and my stepdaughter, Nicole (the artist). I am so proud of them; they have more than exceeded my expectations.

I am a proud graduate of Florida International University, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, and later a Masters degree in Human Resources Development from McDaniel College in Westminster, Maryland, my current residence. I am a member of the Psi Chi National Honor Society in Psychology, as well as a member of the Social Security Administration Women's Advisory Affairs Council.

For 20+ years, I have worked for the Social Security Administration. But my true passion is writing full-time, and I'm enjoying every minute of it. I've been writing short stories and poems since the 9th grade at Dillard High School in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. I often look back and wonder, then ask myself, "Did I write that??!!
