Joyce Godwin Grubbs

I have never lived a boring day in my life. I currently have 14 novels on Amazon.com and they are real cases told in a creative fiction venue to protect identities, locations and workers involved in the real cases. You see, I have been a confidant of many victim/survivors of rape/sexual assault and domestic violence for more than 40 years. I became their voice so their stories could be told from the safety of the shadows.

My collaborator was Trula Ann Godwin, a decorated, pioneer, woman police officer, sex crime expert and my sister. Together we worked cases, walked on the wild side of the inner-city with the street people, addicts, pimps, prostitutes and many of the people who live in the shadows of our cities and run their own world of opportunity.

I founded 3 non-profits to help put high risk victims underground, and established an underground mail system for victims to safely communicate. It inspired the need to tell the stories, as due to confidentiality I was committed too, if I died, all the stories went with me. I had to find a way to speak out, in their voice, with their experiences.

Though serious subjects are in the story-line, there is humor, redemption, life lessons and a sense that there is hope.
