The first part of my education and life was in the
aviation industry. When I came back from the Vietnam
War I was employed by Lockheed Aircraft Co. in
Burbank, California. After giving my life to the Lord one
night, after watching a Billy Graham crusade on TV, God
started changing my interest and desire for employment.
I started noticing police in the Los Angeles area
fighting crime and thought it was interesting, but I had
told myself that I wouldn’t wear another gun after getting
out of Vietnam. The dilemma was solved one day when I
was reading my Bible and noticed Romans 13 where it
said police were “ministers of God”. The rest is history,
and many of my encounters where God helped me as a
policeman are discussed in this book.
