Craig Vroom

I am a children's book author living in McCall, Idaho. I write adventure stories in verse, concentrating on rhyme, meter, and alliteration. I love using the richness of the english language to bring out the imagination of children and adults with my stories. My books feature fun characters, seeking adventure, with some challenges but no violence. My characters and situations are brought to life by a very gifted and talented illustrator, Linn Trochim, a former artist with Hanna-Barbera Studios.

My latest book, Discovering Sharlie: Case of the Missing Sea Serpent, won the Best Children's Book award at the Idaho Author Awards in 2015. It is an aquatic mystery-adventure featuring Olivia and Jenny, the famous Lucky Penny detectives. They team up with Scotland Yard when Nessie, the Loch Ness Monster, goes missing, and discover more than a missing sea serpent!

My first three books find Andrew (the boy) and his dragon-buddy Feelo off on exciting escapades. They include striking out the dangerous Rocko Burista for the home team in a closely contested baseball game, searching for buried treasure in a showdown with the notorious Captain Plunder, and an eco-adventure quest to find the Tall Trees.

I have been a guest speaker at the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, N.Y and the annual Author Fest of the Rockies in Manitou Springs, Colorado.
