Laurel D Rund

Laurel D. Rund is an artist, writer, poet, and digital creator whose work reflects a lifelong interest in creativity, resilience, self-discovery, and the ways our experiences shape who we become.

Her creative journey deepened after the death of her husband of 42 years in 2009. During that time, poetry and visual art became a way to express grief, healing, and renewal. That experience led to her first book, Emerging Voices: Living On — A Journey Through Loss to Renewal, a collection of original poetry and artwork created during the first year following his death.

What began as a deeply personal exploration gradually opened into a broader creative life. Through Essence of Laurel — Art from the Heart, Laurel brings together writing, poetry, visual and digital art, music, and storytelling as expressions of connection, growth, and possibility.

Her work is rooted in the belief that every stage of life offers opportunities for discovery and transformation. Whether writing about loss, love, family, reinvention, or the passage of time, Laurel seeks to illuminate the threads that connect our experiences and give them meaning.

She is currently writing The Architecture of Becoming and What Shaped Me, a memoir that looks back on the people, choices, losses, discoveries, and changing times that helped shape the woman she became.
