I am a textile artist who lives in Portland, Oregon with my husband of 40+ years and an adorable Labradoodle, Scooter. I am the web administrator for the Surface Design Association.
A graduate of Cornell University, I also have an MS from Pennsylvania State University in Clothing and Textiles. I began quilting in 2000, after retiring and love to work in the abstract and find inspiration from the natural beauty around me.
My art quilts have been juried into several local and national textile art shows. I have done commissions for churches and private collections. My work has been published in the book Creative Quilting…The Journal Quilt Project, edited by Karey Bresenhan, and in several magazines.
I create my own fabrics. I really love to change the surface of a fabric in some way. After I have dyed or painted fabric, I use several different techniques such as screen printing, painting, stamping and discharging. Discharging involves removing dye from fabric in a pattern using bleach or Thiox.
