Joan Spence

Joan Spence (also writing under Joan Lithgow her maiden name) was born in County Durham in 1946. I am married and have two daughters and four grandchildren. I spent my adult life as a shorthand typist and then as a social worker with childrens services before retiring in 2007. I took a writers course on retiring and have now written four books all of which have been self published apart from one which I am waiting to hear from a traditional publisher.
