Umesh Sharma MD

Author is a Physician Scientist currently working in the area of Cardiology. After completing his Medical School Training, he obtained Masters Degree in Medical Immunology from University of London, England. Then He decided to pursue PhD training in Cardiovascular Medicine. Part of his training was supported by a grant from American Heart Association, Pre-Doctoral Fellowship. After a brief Post-Doctoral Fellowship, he started his Residency Training in Internal Medicine, which he completed with highest level professional achievements. He has received several awards and honors (Outstanding Graduating Resident, Professionalism Award, Sigma Xi American Scientist, and Honorary Ambassador to UNICEF USA etc.) for his clinical, research and teaching excellence, and his exemplary work of helping children affected from Tsunami. Teaching medical students and doing biomedical research are the two biggest passions of his life.
