Paize B. Usiosefe

Paize B. Usiosefe was born in Benin City, south of the rain forest, Nigeria, West Africa. At his early age, he began to listen to sounds of guns that rode on hostile wind; it was the Nigerian civil war, playgrounds lost to war. Later he lived with his grandmother in the village; a place which held acres of gardens of oranges, mangoes, pineapples, and tangerines. It was his father’s farm; there he passionately listened to rhythms of nature as he began to lean his observation on nature’s metaphors and there he realized that the efficacy of nature revealed the mind of creation. He was told by a teacher in the grammar school that he would be a writer. He now resides in his new home of Canada. He won Editor’s Choice Award for poetry works in 1995 and became member of the international society of poets. His previous book “ECHO FROM A VALLEY” was nominated for the City of Hamilton Arts Awards and Hamilton Literature Awards. He is also a screenwriter and has played some roles in thirteen feature movies.
