Carl King is a writer/composer/director in Los Angeles.

His four-hour Sir Millard Mulch album How To Sell… was co-released through Web of Mimicry, a record label owned by Trey Spruance of Mr. Bungle. Virgil Donati performed on the track “Hemisphere III: Hermes.” The album received darn good reviews in Decibel, Modern Drummer, DRUM!, and Kerrang!

He directed Morgan Ågren’s Conundrum, a feature-length documentary, with guest appearances by Brendon Small of Home Movies, Devin Townsend, and Danny Carey of Tool.

He was the Cinematographer of The Death of “Superman Lives”: What Happened? starring Kevin Smith and Tim Burton, released on Showtime.

His animated TV pilot The Oracle of Outer Space, starred Dweezil Zappa, Jon Schnepp of Metalocalypse, and Frank Zappa / Devin Townsend guitarist Mike Keneally. It won two Silver Telly Awards for Writing and Voiceover.

“10 Myths About Introverts,” his most popular blog post, has been read by millions, plagiarized extensively, and was featured on Wired.

The character Millard in Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children was named after him.
