Since 2006 Bob Wenz has been seeking--with some limitations--to serve the kingdom of God in a variety of ways under the umbrella of Renewing Total Worship Ministries (www.rtwministries.com); as a part-time professor of philosophy at a community college; as a part-time professor at the King's College and Seminary; as an author; as the Preaching Coach for pastorSERVE ministries;
This follows twenty-five years of pastoral ministry (in Lansing, MI; Covina, CA; Clifton Park, NY; and Washington, DC) and three years of service with the National Association of Evangelicals as vice-president of national ministries, which prompted a relocated to the rarified air of Colorado Springs in 2005.
A graduate of Arizona State University, with both bachelor's and master's degrees in speech communication, Bob went on for theological studies at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, and completed his Doctor of Ministry degree at Bethel University of St. Paul, Minnesota, where his dissertation focused on training lay people to share their faith in Christ.
Bob's first book, Room for God? A Worship Challenge for the Church Growth and Marketing Era was released by Baker Books in 1994 and has now been reprinted in 2007 by Total Worship Ministries. Bob is also a regular contributor to Christianity Today and other publications.
Bob was ordained by the Conservative Congregational Christian Conference and is also credentialed with the Christian and Missionary Alliance.
Since 1987 he has taught and preached in more than forty countries throughout Europe, Asia, Africa, South America, and the Pacific Islands.
Bob and Suellen, a senior editor for Compassion International, have shared their journey together for more than three decades. They have a college-aged son and a married daughter--and a spectacular granddaughter.
