Christopher Kaufman

Christopher Kaufman, Ph.D., is a licensed psychologist (Maine) and certified School Psychologist (Doctoral). He has practiced for 27 years as both a school and clinical child psychologist across a range of educational and clinical settings (serving from September, 1999 through February, 2011 as Lead Psychologist for the Portland School Department). An entertaining and engaging speaker, Dr. Kaufman provides brain-based learning workshops/trainings for teachers, clinicians, and administrators throughout New England and, increasingly, around the country and around the world. Among his more notable recent engagements have included featured speaker roles at the Fall, 2012 National Dyslexia Foundation Conference at Harvard Medical School, the February, 2013 European Brain-Based Learning Conference in Madrid, Spain, and the Spring, 2013 Learning and the Brain conference in Washington, DC. Dr. Kaufman strives to make all his trainings and workshops enjoyable, informative, and (above all) of practical value to attendees. His clinical specialties include the evaluation and treatment of learning disabilities (reading, math, and written language disorders), ADHD and related executive functioning struggles, pediatric anxiety disorders (particularly Obsessive/Compulsive Disorder), and pervasive developmental disorders.
