Craig Haen has a private psychotherapy practice working with children, adolescents, adults and families in White Plains, NY (www.craighaen.com). He serves as Adjunct Faculty in the department of applied psychology and the graduate drama therapy program at New York University, and in the expressive therapies doctoral program at Lesley University, teaching courses in both clinical practice and research. He is co-founder and program director of the Kint Institute, which offers a post-Masters certificate program in the creative arts therapies and trauma treatment (www.kintinstitute.org).
Dr. Haen has extensive experience working with youth, adults, and families in shelters, community centers, hospitals, residential facilities, schools, and on Native American reservations. For 15 years, he worked as a clinician and supervisor in mental health agencies and hospitals. He has presented trainings and published clinical papers internationally, and is the recipient of the 2014 Research Award from the North American Drama Therapy Association. In addition, he is the Co-Chair of the American Group Psychotherapy Association's Community Outreach Task Force, a group that provides trauma intervention, training, and support in diverse communities internationally. He was the recipient of the 2020 Social Responsibility Award for this work.
