Jay Richard Akkerman

Dr. Jay Richard Akkerman (www.jayakkerman.com) is professor of pastoral theology at Northwest Nazarene University and director of graduate theological online education.

A graduate of Asbury Theological Seminary, Nazarene Theological Seminary, and Northwest Nazarene College, he served in a variety of ministry assignments in Arizona, Washington, Missouri, Kansas, and Idaho before entering Christian higher education.

Dr. Akkerman and his wife Kim live in Nampa, Idaho and have three daughters: Lauren; Parker; and Hailey, who is also a published writer.
