Liam Sweeny is a crime fiction, sci-fi, fantasy and horror writer from the Albany, NY area. Aside from six novels, two novellas and two collections of short works. Sweeny's work has appeared in online magazines such as Spinetingler Magazine, Thuglit, A Twist of Noir, Shotgun Honey, the Flash Fiction Offensive and others. His most recent work is the Jack LeClere detective series (Welcome Back, Jack, Presiding Over the Damned, Miner's Kill) and a new collection, 'Street Whispers'
Sweeny has been active in various community causes, from grassroots political campaigns to disaster relief work starting in Louisiana with hurricane Katrina. He has spent the past ten years as a disaster responder in the American Red Cross of Eastern New York.
Sweeny's work is far ranging, from the controversial to the experimental. With writing, Sweeny seeks what he hopes to give to his readers; an escape from the four walls. He focuses on rich characters with a guiding realism.
