Cy Dethan

Cy Dethan is a British writer who first established himself within the comics industry in 2006, producing material for Markosia Enterprises, Mongoose Publishing and Insomnia Publications.

In 2007, Cy was chosen to take the reins of Markosia's flagship Starship Troopers series. He has since written numerous creator-owned projects for Markosia and others, including the Cancertown and Indifference Engine graphic novels, Slaughterman's Creed and White Knuckle.

Cy is also a contributor of short stories to many anthology publications, including The British Comics Showcase, Time Bomb Comics' Bomb Scares and the Metal Made Flesh series by Subversive Comics. He is heavily involved in the Unseen Shadows transmedia project, the brainchild of bestselling Amazon author Barry Nugent. Cy's Unseen Shadows contributions include The Reverend: Wrath of God for Tales of the Fallen, The Immaculate Abortion of Dina Leigh for Tales of the Forgotten and The Reverend: Blood Cries Out, the project's first full-length graphic novel.

Cy's first prose novel, SF crime thriller Bad Sector, was published in 2025, and he continues to produce fiction in genres ranging from paranormal espionage to samurai splatterpunk.

Before turning to fiction, Cy was an award-winning freelance copywriter and editor. Prior to that he was a professional magician and, quite frankly, he'd rather not talk about it...
