Stan G. Duncan

Stan G. Duncan is a writer, economist, theologian, and global activist whose work resonates across both academic and literary spheres. Holding two degrees in economics and two in theology, he offers a rare and compelling voice that bridges finance and faith, justice and spirituality.

For decades, Stan has led consciousness-raising delegations to developing nations and spent several years in Central America conducting economic development research for the Hall Foundation. In the United States, he has served as both a professor of economics and a church pastor, while holding leadership positions on local and national boards of Bread for the World, Habitat for Humanity, and Jubilee USA. His thought-provoking writings, spanning articles, essays, and sermons, have appeared in Huffington Post, Sojourners, the New Internationalist, NPR, and other prominent outlets.

In June 2020, Stan expanded into fiction with the release of his short story collection, The Fire on Poteau Mountain, which weaves humanity, justice, and compassion into masterful narratives. In June of 2025, he published Things That Go Dark in the Light, a gripping novel of a man's walk through grief at the sudden loss of his wife to acceptance, forgiveness, and finally love again, set in El Salvador in 1989, during their bloody civil war.

Now retired in rural New Hampshire, Stan continues to write and inspire, offering readers stories and reflections that invite empathy, faith, and a vision for a more just world.
