Beloved Enemy, orignally published in hardcover in the UK and paperback in the U.S. was 'Amanda York's' first best-seller - described in reviews as a 'heart-pounding historical romance,' and generating a great deal of reader mail, some addressed to the author and even more to the male lead character, Damon St. Clair.

Joan Dial, aka Amanda York, was born in Liverpool, England. She married a young American airman and they spent their first years moving back and forth between the two countries, finally settling in California, where she currently resides.
