Matthew Collins

Matthew Collins is the author of three books. 'Hate' in 2011, 'Nazi Terrorist' (2019 & 2022) and 'The Walk In' (2022). Collins was portrayed by British actor Stephen Graham in the five-part British television drama 'The Walk-In' which aired on ITV October - November 2022.

Collins has been the subject of documentaries on the BBC: 'Life Etc' (2002) and 'Dead Man Walking' (2004). In July 2018 he and Robbie Mullen were the feature of Channel Four's ' Plot to Kill: Britain's Neo-Nazi Terrorists'. In November 2022 ITV's 'Nazi Hunters: The Real Walk - In' aired about his life infiltrating far right groups and running 'moles' and 'spies; inside the far right. He has been dubbed - tongue in cheek - 'The Fat James Bond' for his notable work not just in Britain, but also in Ireland and Hungary.

Born in London in the 1970's, Collins was a senior figure in the British far right during the 1980's before turning his back on the far right and working against his former colleagues. His writing gives a unique, often personal insight into the lives and traumas of life in the far right.

Collins is a regular contributor to television, newspaper and radio. The broadcaster Kevin Maguire described Collins as such: "He’s a wonderful raconteur, Cockney blagger and professional ligger. They say he once passed himself off as the physio for a

second division Austrian football club. I could believe it.....His disarming, occasionally charming, talents are what make

the supremely gifted and sometimes flawed “spy master” that is Matthew Collins."

Singer-songwriter Billy Bragg also wrote "if he's got a guestlist, you wanna be on it."
