Jeantet Fields

Jeantet Fields has taught Virtualization on three continents and consulted in North America. He began his IT career in 1995 on the business side of a dot-com. Soon thereafter, he transitioned away from the business side to the hands-on technical side of IT. Several positions and certifications later, while working for a financial institution, he saw the acute industry-wide interest in virtualization as a new trend. Seizing on this potentially career-changing opportunity, in 2006 he attained his VCP certification and became a contract instructor for VMware. In 2008, he helped start Virtual Umbrella with his two business partners, Brian Perry and Chris Huss.

Today, Virtual Umbrella is the largest independent instructor broker for VMware training and continues to expand its service offerings into consulting and publications.

Jeantet is a native New Yorker, and in addition to playing with computers and virtualization, he enjoys aviation, travel and diving.
