Jan Schnupp was born in Munich, studied Genetics in London and Neuroscience at Oxford and Madison, Wisconsin. He is now Professor of Neuroscience at the University of Oxford and co-directs the Oxford Auditory Neuroscience Group. He loves exploring all those rich and intricate processes that are constantly at work in our brains, and is never happier than when he can share his enthusiasm for science in general, and neuroscience in particular, with others. In 2007 he was runner up at the UK national FameLab science communication competition, and in 2010 he was awarded a Medical Sciences Division Teaching Excellence Award.
