Deborah L Fruchey

Deborah Fruchey was born in California over 60 years ago. Her first novel was chosen as a Best Book by the American Bookseller's Association in 1987. She has attended several colleges just for fun, never earning a degree, and has worked at everything from international banking to selling light bulbs over the phone. Her titles include flash fiction, poetry, historical comedy romances, and a self help manual.

In 2005 Deborah married musician Robert Hamaker, and became a full time author, editor and publisher. She no longer knows why she bothered with anything else.

In the last several years, Deborah has concentrated on editing & publishing the works of other people through her micro-press, Last Laugh Productions (www.lastlughproductions.org). She also runs a website of local poetry events for her SF East Bay area (www.strictly-east.org).

In addition, she coordinates an "In Our Own Voice" program for her local branch of NAMI (National Alliance for the Mentally Ill) as a result of her own experience with Bipolar Disorder.
