FIRE ANGELS recently received the 2015 Patrick D. Smith Award for Literary Excellence. It also received Honorable-Mention and five star review in the 2014 Writer's Digest Self-Published e-book competition. I'm a native Floridian born on a little farm and delivered by a black neighbor as the midwife. You will find the first chapter of "Fire Angels" based on that occasion--as I've been told; I really don't remember anything about it. Lived in and around Ocala until I was 15. We moved to St. Petersburg where I finished high school in 1948. Army veteran of the Korean War. Received a B.S. degree from the University of Alabama. Worked for the army as a civilian; the IRS as Chief Management Staff, Data processing center, Atlanta, GA; for NASA on the Apollo Program and as Chief, Administration, Expendible Vehicle Operations and Shuttle Payload Operations. Retired after nearly 36 years government service. My wife of 61 years, Joan, and I live in Titusville, FL along with our three "rescued" cats. I have published my book of short stories and poetry "Waiting and other stories". Also published a non-fiction book, "Self-esteem in the Workplace." All are available on Amazon. I certainly appreciate, love, the positive reviews my three books have received.
