Randall Kolka

Randy holds a PhD in Soil Science from the University of Minnesota. He currently is Team Leader and Research Soil Scientist with the USDA Forest Service's Northern Research Station in Grand Rapids, MN. Randy's research interests are in both terrestrial and aquatic systems where he studies water, nutrient, carbon and mercury cycles, and the effects that management, fire, land use and climate change has on these cycles. He is an adjunct faculty member at 5 universities, formerly was an associate editor for the journal Wetlands, and has published over a 100 scientific articles in his career.
