David Tavarez

David Tavárez, Professor of Anthropology at Vassar College and a recent Guggenheim fellow, is the author of Rethinking Zapotec Time, The Invisible War, and 60+ articles and chapters. He is also editor of The Oxford Handbook of Ritual Language (forthcoming) and Words and Worlds Turned Around, and a co-author of Painted Words, and Chimalpahin's Conquest. He is currently at work on a project on Indigenous intellectuals and their pivotal role in the global Renaissance.
