Dion A Forster

Dion Forster is a South African theologian. He holds two Ph.D's in theology. The first is in theology and science, focussing on cognitive neuroscience and African intersubjective identity (2006, SA). His second Ph.D focusses on social identity complexity in relation to the politics of forgiveness among Black and White South Africans (2017, Radboud University).

He is the author of several popular and academic books. Dion's writing focuses on issues of Public Theological concern, such as political and economic ethics, the neuroscience of belief and identity, Methodism, and issues such as HIV AIDS, poverty, and justice. Dion has also written on faith and work, and Christian spirituality.

Dion serves as the Departmental Chair for the department of Systematic Theology and Ecclesiology at Stellenbosch University in Cape Town, South Africa. He is also the director of the Beyers Naudé Centre for Public Theology.

Dion is married to Megan, they have two children and live in Cape Town.
