Paul T. Penley

New Testament Scholar. Former Bible Professor at the college and seminary level. Dr. Penley studied Greek, Hebrew and Aramaic on his journey to better understanding Scripture in undergraduate and post-graduate degrees. He studied biblical history on site in Israel, Egypt, Turkey and Greece and then picked up German and French while completing a Ph.D. from Trinity's Divinity School. He has presented his original biblical and historical research in college courses and national scholars' meetings, at Shabbat school and church retreats, at Bible conference centers and small groups.

He is passionate about people doing today what Jesus did and taught back then. So he now spends his working hours finding and funding the most effective ministries around the world as the Executive Director of the Ledbetter Foundation. He has presented and published strategies for effective grantmaking for the Philanthropy Roundtable, Alliance magazine, Stanford Social Innovation Review, YALE philanthropy conference and Outcomes magazine. He has analyzed and advised dozens of ministries how to improve management structures, coherent strategies, and measurable outcomes. He thrives on figuring things out and making informed decisions that really help people. His biblical and philanthropic work combine these analytical and practical values.
