Jeremy Bouma

Jeremy Bouma spent five years in Washington, DC, working on Capitol Hill before returning to his hometown Grand Rapids, MI. While on Capitol Hill, he worked for a United States Senator and later pastored among this community of people, leading bible studies and mentoring congressional staffers in the Way of Jesus. This experience and vantage point, coupled with a degree in Political Science, gives him a unique perspective on faith, Church and the American experience that he hopes will help others live in the tension of faith in Jesus and postmodern America.

Upon his return he served on staff at a small church just outside Grand Rapids, while completing full-time graduate work. He holds the Master of Divinity and Master of Theology (Historical Theology) from Grand Rapids Theological Seminary. He is the founder of THEOKLESIA, a content curator dedicated to helping the Church rediscover the historic Christian faith. He was the lead pastor of Renovate Church (Evangelical Covenant Church) in Muskegon, MI. He and his wife and son live in Grand Rapids with their dog, Zoe.

Jeremy writes within the tension of spirituality and theology, politics and culture, belief and practice, existing and emerging forms of Church, the Kingdom of God and America, modern and postmodern thought, and the gritty drama that is our collective pilgrim story.
