Pip Farquharson was conceived in Africa but launched into the world in Southampton—from where the Titanic set off on her fateful voyage. Catapulted from London to Amsterdam after university, she has had an enduring love affair with Amsterdam for 25+ years. As well as contributing to numerous travel titans such as Time Out and Dorling & Kindersley, she has worked as a consultant for documentaries on Amsterdam for the BBC, MTV and Lonely Planet, plus as an arts writer. She is author of National Geographic: Walking Amsterdam and two editions of Rotterdam—a travel guide to the Netherlands' next best city.
