Elliott Serrano

Elliott Serrano is a comic-book author, freelance writer and geek gun for hire. His "geek features" column "Geek To Me" debuted in the Chicago RedEye, a sib of the Chicago Tribune. He has also written for Playboy.com.

He grew up reading "Spider-Man" and "Iron Fist" comic books; idolizing Elliot S! Maggin (which led to his love of Superman); watching Saturday morning cartoons; and obsessing over "Star Wars". His fantasy bucket list includes driving the Mach Five, flying the Millennium Falcon and going for a trip in the TARDIS.

He cites local Chicago media legends Roger Ebert, Bill Jackson, Ray Rayner and Rich Koz as inspirations to pursue a career in media.

He made his comic-book writing debut when he co-wrote the "Xena versus Army of Darkness" sequel "What...Again?" with fellow comic-writer dork Brandon Jerwa. His credits include "Army of Darkness", "The Adventures of Grumpy Cat" and "Homies: The Comic Book."

He currently resides in the Chicagoland area and can be heard on WGN Radio as part of the "Pretty Late with Patti Vasquez" Show.
