Mary Bale

Mary Bale is the name used by the detective fiction writer Pamela St Abbs for her Historical Fiction.

She was inspired to write about the Normans in Britain after visiting Normandy and seeing the Bayeux Tapestry. Mary enjoys writing about the Medieval events of the eleventh century and embroidering her mysteries with the history of the period.

The new edition of Threads of Treason is now available in paperback and the e-book is available for pre-order for release on 7th August 2026. The new edition is to celebrate the arrival in Britain of the Tapestry and the exhibition at the British Museum starting in September.

Mary Bale lives in Scotland with her husband and has two grown up children.
