Steven McKinney

Steven & Valerie McKinney live in Marin County,

California with their three young daughters Hana,

Addison and Karolina. They enjoy hiking, biking,

swimming and playing tennis. The inspiration for the

Lu-Chu & Lena series came from the thoughtful gestures

China made to the world community preceding

the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. This hope for a more

temperate world view, one of cooperation and understanding,

inspired us to create a story that drew from

the larger multi-cultural, multi-racial and multi-national

themes of the 2008 Olympiad. Steven and Valerie have

two additional picture books in production and scheduled

for release in 2010.
