About the Author
Jasmin Rogg graduated from UCLA with a B.A. in Psychology, and from Loyola Marymount University with a M.A. in Counseling Psychology. She subsequently received her Marriage Family Therapist license in 1982. In addition to offering psychotherapy to recovering addicts and alcoholics in private practice in Los Angeles, California, she specializes in treating emotional disorders such as depression and anxiety, and has been facilitating ongoing groups on relationships in recovery at various chemical dependency treatment centers.
Having spent many years in the field of addiction and recovery, on both a professional and personal level, she knows what it takes to leave behind destructive behavior patterns in favor of actions that promote prosperity and success, and has dedicated her life to using her extensive experience to benefit others. In her work she utilizes the "alchemy" of turning weakness into strength, passing on resources and tools for recovery from emotional pain, depression, anxiety, and addiction - for building a good life.
In the seventies Jasmin moved to Los Angeles from her native Germany in order to broaden her horizon. Her family background is Jewish-Romanian-Italian. She is bilingual in English and German, and also speaks some Romanian and French.
After various migrations and detours she lives in Los Angeles, next door to her married son, in a big household with her extended chosen family, guests from all over the world, as well as cats and dogs (and cautiously visiting birds, squirrels, opossums, skunks, and raccoons).
