Andrzej Gorecki

Andrzej Gorecki (Andrew Gorecki) was born in 1955 in Poland, grew up in Warsaw and studied Industrial Engineering at Warsaw Technical University. During his studies he became fascinated with computers, but also became disillusioned with the oppressive communist system.

In 1980 he defected to the West and after living for a year in Germany, emigrated to Australia. Today he lives with his family in Melbourne, where he is the managing director of Retail Directions - technology company dedicated to providing retail chains with the world's best retail system.

Andrzej also provides strategic business advice to large corporations and has never hesitated to challenge the existing dogma. His world-view has been shaped by the works of W. Edwards Deming, Alfred Korzybski, R. Buckminster Fuller, and Elliott Jaques. His diverse interests include quantum mechanics, philosophy and psychology. Andrzej has written over 50 articles dealing with a wide range of business and management issues – busting myths and promoting sound commercial practice. In June 2010 he has been nominated for the Australian Enterpreneur of the Year Award.

Unlike his other writings, his first book: ‘South of the 60th Parallel’ is a work of fiction.
