Renee Levine Packer

Renee Levine Packer, born in France and raised in Mexico City and New York, was administrator with Lukas Foss and Allen Sapp and codirector with Jan Williams and Morton Feldman of the Center of the Creative and Performing Arts at SUNY Buffalo. She was a director of the Contemporary Music Festival at the California Institute of the Arts and director of the Inter-Arts program at the National Endowment for the Arts. Levine Packer produced Steve Reich and Beryl Korot's multimedia opera "The Cave," and was a dean at the Maryland Institute College of Art.

This book was honored with a 2011 ASCAP Deems Taylor Award for excellence.

Her most recent book is "Gay Guerrilla: Julius Eastman and His Music," co-edited with Mary Jane Leach and published by the University of Rochester Press in December 2015.
