John F. Binder

John F. Binder was born in Chicago, Illinois. He attended De Paul University as an undergraduate and earned his MA and Ph.D.degress in history at Northwestern University. He taught college-level history for fifteen years and then served as the deputy director of a Chicago-based social service agency for over twenty years. Both careers were rich sources of material for writing his political satire Farewell,My Republic which was completed after his retirement. He has also completed another satirical novel and several shorter humorous works. He has two grown sons and is married to Christina. They share their home with two Siamese cats.
