Von Charles Petersen

At a recent U2 concert in Miami, "Bono sent a shout out to Lebron James - who is here and gets a mighty reception - and also to Carl Willner, the father of producer Hal, a longtime friend of the band. Carl has recently published a remarkable book written by Von Petersen, Carl's Story; The Persistence of Hope, a memoir of how as a teenager he survived the concentration camps of Auschwitz, Buchenwald and Dachau." Bono referred to Carl as, "My Hero."

Von Petersen was born in the high desert hills of Rock Springs, Wyoming, in the heart of the Rocky Mountains. Catching a ride on the leaves of sagebrush as a teenager, he has since lived throughout the United States and in Antwerp, Belgium. Serpentine paths are sometimes difficult to navigate, but provide abundant fodder for a curious life. He would like to thank all those who have shared their own paths with him along the way. He currently lives in New York City and Colorado.
