Bernardo Sorj

Bernardo Sorj holds a B.A. and an M.A. in History and Sociology from Haifa University, Israel and a Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Manchester in England. He was visiting professor at many North American and European and universities. He is currently professor of Sociology and Director of the Edelstein Center for Social Research, in Rio de Janeiro. In 2005 was elected Brazil "Man of Ideas of the Year". The author of 29 books published in English, French, Spanish and Portuguese, he is member of the board of several academic journals, advisor to scientific institutions and consultant to international organizations (www.bernardosorj.com/english/index.asp).
