Lisa van Klaveren

I like to say that writing is my easiest form of communication...words just flow for me. I really think I have the heart of a writer and perhaps someday I'll write a real novel, but for now, my 1st offering to the literary world is a heartwarming children's book.

My favorite author is Lucy Maud Montgomery. Oddly enough, as much as I love writing, I don't enjoy reading...at least not in English. I do enjoy reading in German, though my German skills are somewhat rusty these days. The last real book I really read and enjoyed thoroughly was Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte.

I am originally from Wisconsin, but currently live near Auckland, New Zealand, with my husband, Gilbert and our 3 daughters. I am a stay-at-home mom and crochet/design in my spare time. I also love to photograph my own designs.

I learned to crochet at age 3! My mom tried to teach my elder sister the basic stitches, but told me my fingers were too small to hold the hook. But I insisted and showed her I could do it. The rest is history!
