After teaching English composition and literature for 27 years at Lansing Community College in Michigan, and earning a PhD in literature at Michigan State University, I returned to writing.
Although my academic background emphasized the classics, Renaissance, and modern masters, my tastes always turned on the metaphysical and the whimsical, from Edgar Allan Poe and H.P. Lovecraft to Kenneth Grahame, from J.R.R. Tolkien to J.K. Rowling, from Lewis Carroll to T.H. White, from Romanticism to realism. As well as science fiction and fantasy.
There's a certain creakiness here. But, then, rickety old houses inspire more primordial dread than sterile laboratories.
