Elaine Schmidt

Elaine Schmidt is an author, music and dance critic and musician. She spent more than a decade performing throughout North America as a flutist and singer before earning a Master of Arts in Music Criticism and turning to arts writing. In addition to authoring books such as Hey Mom! Listen to This!: A Parent's Guide to Music, Elaine has served variously as writer, researcher, editor and translator for more than 100 books of music published by the Hal Leonard Corporation, Schirmer and Ricordi. Her work on these projects appears under her own name and the pseudonym Marie Eggold. The Travelers series, about a trio of intrepid, teenaged time travelers, is her first foray into fiction. She lives in Wisconsin.
