Cheng-Lung Wu

Bio

Dr. Wu joined UNSW Aviation (Sydney Australia) in 2002 after completing his PhD at Loughborough University (UK) in 2001 specialising in airline operations, airline network modelling, punctuality management and schedule planning/optimisation. Dr. Wu's industrial experience include transport engineering (expressway design & planning; Taipei City Government), airport retail business management & terminal planning (Taipei International Airport), and consulting projects with various airlines and airports. Dr. Wu is also a certified IATA instructor in the field of Airport and Ground Operations.

Professional Activities

In the past few years, I have seen the implementation of my earlier Aircraft Turnaround Monitoring System (ATMS) research. This prototype product, ATMS was issued a preliminary Australian patent in 2004, recognising the innovation of this framework/prototype in the airline industry. Check my 2008 publication list for a full journal paper on ATMS. Recent commercial examples of the ATMS concept include: ATMS framework from SITA's Workforce Mobility Solution. Dr. Wu's research interests focus on airport operations, airline operations and schedule optimisation. A recent interest has been on the joint research of aviation and tourism issues, focusing on the impact of aviation on tourism development and tourist dispersal in regional Australia.
