Janet Stead

Janet Stead, who writes under the names of Lucy Day and Jenny Simpson was brought up in a suburb of South London, not easily daunted by adversity, she was running her own business at the age of twenty-six, repairing dot matrix printer heads, which can be found in (ATM) cash machines. She left in 1996, having acquired a range of skills, which she made good use of. Working in a variety of industries she gained a broad view of business and went on to work with small to medium-sized businesses as a ‘start-up’ business advisor.

Her books are based on those experiences of growing up in London in the 1950s and seen through the eyes of Frances Tompkins, the girl in the book who later has a daughter called, Emma. It shows the impact that had on their lives and deals with violence in the home.

Janet's second book, Beyond Reproach by Jenny Simpson, deals with psychological abuse and the impact it has on all those involved.

In recent years, Janet works as a Wellness Consultant, a job she is passionate about, and still maintains a zest for life.
