David E. Malberg was born in 1947. He grew up in a home that had no father most of the time. There were four siblings. During most of his childhood, he lived below the poverty line.
Life was hard during the early days of David's youth, but at age 16, his parents divorced; and his mother remarried, bringing a sense of order to the family.
David has studied music since he was two years old. He sang with his family on Christian radio in the mid-fifties.
David graduated from high school in Indianapolis, Indiana in 1966. He, then went to go to Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan, where he majored in
Education and Psychology.
In June, 1970, David came to Tampa, Florida, where he received his B.A. in Spanish in December, 1971. David has been active in church work all of his life in quartets, Music Director, and Treasurer.
Shortly after that education, David began a career in banking that spanned twenty years. That career ended with an auto accident in 1992; subsequent surgery took place in 1993.
In 1994, David began a teaching career. After receiving graduate (teaching)
certification in French, Spanish, and ESL, David continued teaching in the metro Tampa, Florida area. He resigned in 2003.
David had another terrible auto accident in 1999. Many surgeries followed.
David's last cervical fusion took place in 2004.
David now writes music and does painting near his lakefront home in Florida.
