Marissa Guggiana is the celebrated author of two culinary books – Primal Cuts: Cooking with America’s Best Butchers and Off The Menu: Staff Meals From America’s Top Restaurants, as well as the new travel guide 33 Getaways From San Francisco That You Must Not Miss. As a freelance journalist, her articles have appeared in such publications as Edible Communities magazines, Meatpaper, and Berkeleyside, among others.
Marissa has also worked as an advocate for sustainable food systems as the co-founder of The Butcher's Guild, a board member of Slow Food Russian River, Charcuterie Curator at Slow Food Nation, delegate to Terra Madre, advisor to the Good Food Awards and other roles. She lives in the Bay Area with her husband, Eric, and their daughter, Margot.
