Paul Reyes is deputy editor at Virginia Quarterly Review. Prior to joining VQR, he was a senior editor at The Oxford American. His essays, criticism, and reporting have appeared in VQR, The Oxford American, Harper’s, The New York Times, The Guardian, Mother Jones, Slate, Details, The Mississippi Review, and other publications. In 2009, Reyes was awarded an NEA Literature Fellowship in nonfiction and was also a finalist for the National Magazine Award in Feature Writing. His work as an editor has contributed to several National Magazine Award nominations for both The Oxford American and VQR.
