Elizabeth Turp

Elizabeth Turp is a counsellor/psychotherapist (MBACP Snr Accred) based in the UK, who has been helping clients and other professional helpers take better care of their mental and physical wellbeing since 1998, including 13 years in NHS primary care. A highly qualified practitioner and expert by experience, she has been in private practice since 2013. As well as working with blocked creatives, trauma survivors and midlife clients, she helps people living with invisible chronic energy limiting and pain conditions (endometriosis, ME/CFS, fibromyalgia, long Covid, epilepsy, migraine, EDS, POTS, etc) to improve their mental health, coping and self-management skills.

She has been writing to raise awareness about the realities of chronic illness for 25 years and her warm, caring and humorous style make this challenging and complex subject more accessible. She is co-host of the ‘How We Care’ podcast and author of many print and online articles, and two previous books.

She loves people, reading, nature, painting, music and her adopted home, the ‘pool of life’, Liverpool. Despite living with debilitating health issues since 2005, she has built a life of balance and creativity, with lots of rest that honours her health challenges.
