R S Basi

R.S. Basi is a self-proclaimed contrarian. As an attorney and scholar, he has written without shame about different ways of looking at legal and social institutions. His most recent work, Convictions of Faith, is the fictionalized account of the life of Dona Beatriz Kimpa Vita, the "African Joan of Arc." Using research that included translations of journals written by Portuguese missionaries, the novel is an Afro-centric account of the life of one of that continent's greatest religious leaders and contrarians.
