I had often thought about do a family history but my written English was never very good particularly, my spelling

In 2005 I acquired a computer and finding that had a 'spell checker' I decided to make a start on writing up my childhood spent on a small urban farm.

This covers the years from about 1935 until 1950 when the farm was taken to build new houses.

Once I started writing it thing came back to me that I had forgotten years ago.

The war years were a great adventure to us kids but our parents must have been

very concerned. Up until the Americans declared war on Germany things must have looked pretty grim.

Since writing the book I'm now back in contact with a lot of the lads I attended Hillary Street school with. in fact we meet once a month for a drink in Weatherspoons pud, Walsall,

My picture, I'm doing a reading at the Pleck Library, Walsall UK.
