I like to write about the myriad of things that pop into my head, especially if it means I get to research. I love research. For my first book, From Pemmican to Poutine, I got to read books written as long ago as the mid-1800s and learn about the everyday lives of generations of Canadians.

I've had a few poems and articles published, but I love the long-term challenge of a book. I am currently writing my next two books: one, a non-fiction book about textile history, and the other, a novel.

When I'm not writing I'm usually knitting, spinning or other stitchcraft. I live in Toronto with my husband and our cat.
